Gerald "JERRY" Loomer Scholarship

Gerald has announced that when elected he will personally donate $1,000 each month he serves on the Board. It is designed to assist current TEACHERS with tuition costs related to certification, advanced degrees, or subject-area training.

Loomer has raised concerns about teacher recruitment and retention in Florida as the state is still listed at the bottom of teacher pay. Districts are challenged to find new hires certified in the different. subjects they are to teach. This is intended to help retain qualified educators.

Gerald Loomer was a finalist in the Teacher in Space Program. Gerald will share his journey being one of 15,000 applicants to become a finalist.
